Capitanier/Platform/Budget Butler
Module 07

An operating budget that monitors itself, energy included.

Budget Butler builds the operating cost budget of the building and automatically makes sure it is not overrun. The energy part gives a complete overview of the consumption of all utilities, meter balances and saving opportunities.

What you get

A result, not a list of features.

01

A budget that does not overrun

Plan vs. actual continuously, warning before overrun, specific measures.

02

Energy without double counting

Trees of billing and sub-meters; unmetered consumption and losses visible.

03

Savings that can be proven

AI measures the real effect of measures against a weather- and operation-adjusted baseline.

Budget

What exactly it does.

  • It builds the budget from the asset register, planned maintenance, contracts and regional operating cost benchmarks.
  • Actual costs are filled in automatically from approved work, invoices and energy metering.
  • It continuously compares plan with actual, warns early of a looming overrun and proposes specific measures.
  • It simulates and compares scenarios (economy, reliability, comfort) including impacts and risks.
  • AI predicts costs with an uncertainty band and evaluates the real savings of implemented measures.
Energy

All utilities, one balance.

  • All utilities: electricity, gas, heat, cooling, water and hot water. Each has its own tree of billing and sub-meters.
  • Balances without double counting, unmetered consumption and losses.
  • Consumption by purpose (heating, ventilation, lighting…), service (cooking, laundry, production), tenant, cost centre or zone.
  • Readings remotely from the technology or manually, e.g. via a QR code on the meter with a photo. Consumption for any period.
  • Unit conversions and gas to energy. Efficiency of boilers, heat pumps and chillers.
  • The AI model builds a weather- and operation-adjusted baseline, reveals waste and measures the savings achieved.
How it is introduced

Four steps, no surprises.

Building data

Asset register, maintenance plan, contracts, meters. What is already in Capitanier is not entered again.

Budget and meters

First budget from data and benchmarks, meter trees per utility.

Operation

Invoices, work and readings flow in; plan vs. actual continuously.

Measures

Scenarios, saving proposals, effect measurement. Approved measures go to WFM or to the BMS.

Proven
Parker Hannifin, Chomutov

An operating budget with energy management runs on real HVAC data from a manufacturing plant.

Frequently asked questions

The most frequent questions.

Where does Budget Butler get actual costs?+
From approved work in WFM, from invoices and from energy metering. Manual entry is possible, not necessary.
What if we have no sub-meters?+
It works with billing meters and allocation by purpose or zone; sub-meters are added over time.
How do you know a saving is real?+
By comparison with the baseline the model builds from weather and operation, not with last year.
